<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device and a display method which can display input information in a region determined by a positional relation with an object placed on a display screen. <P>SOLUTION: When a QR code recognized from a captured image captured by an image input part 19 shows that there is not any communicating function, a control part 11 determines that a placed object is a bar-shaped body 4, and secures the region of a virtual tablet 41. The control part 11 stores orbit information showing the orbit of a position where any change has occurred in the region of the virtual tablet 41 as the information of the tablet part of the display information of the tablet display information 132 in a data storage part 13. Then, the control part 11 transmits base display information 131 and the information of the tablet part to a display information generation part 20, and makes the display information generation part 20 generate a plotting image by synthesizing the base display information 131 with the information of the tablet part.
