PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide, using crushed bamboo, a well drainable weed-suppressing bamboo sheet material that exhibits bactericidal effects and herbicidal effects, can be formed by molding without using a binder, is air-permeable owing to gaps formed though the sheet material is prepared by molding, is excellently drainable and holds crushed bamboo notwithstanding the gaps, and inhibits weed growing. SOLUTION: The weed-suppressing bamboo sheet material comprises a resin fiber layer having a density of 0.12-0.35 g/cm<SP>3</SP>, tensile strengths of 0.3-2.0 MPa and an air permeability of 25-41 cm<SP>3</SP>/cm<SP>2</SP>s obtained by mixing 70-80 wt.% of crushed bamboo having a longer side length of 5-10 mm and a water content of 3-10% with 30-20 wt.% of a resin fiber and compression-molding the mixture at 120-130°C thereby shutting up the crushed bamboo within gaps formed by the resin fiber.
