Control circuit for model trains - has small length rail sections providing train position indicator to central logic box, which prevents collisions on continuous 12 volt network

The central control box has a mains input to a bridge rectifier (3). A common voltage having 15-18 volts peak value is provided to all the rails from an analogue circuit (6). Small sections of track 15 mm long are inserted within the rail network, and pulses of current from these tracks change the state of the logic circuit (5) to provide signals to train position indicator LEDs, and prevent more than one model train being on a length of track. A rheostat (2) allows the train speed to be varied. There are also push buttons to command (4) the trains and operate signals (5). ADVANTAGE - Allows automation whilst having common voltage feed.
