SURFACE CONDITIONER FOR COATING AGENTS

Disclosed are: a surface conditioner for coating agents, which can impart base material-wetting properties and cissing-preventing properties to a coating agent when added to the coating agent in a small quantity, can also impart leveling properties to a coating film that is produced by applying the coating agent to make the surface of the coating film smooth and beautiful, can prevent from the adhesion of an overcoat, can impart excellent leveling properties even when added to a baking paint that is cured at a high temperature, and has heat resistance; and a coating agent containing the surface conditioner. The surface conditioner for coating agents comprises a copolymer comprising 1 to 40 parts by weight of (A) an acrylate monomer containing a siloxy group, 2 to 80 parts by weight of (B) an N-vinyllactam monomer and 10 to 97 parts by weight of (C) an alkyl (meth)acrylate monomer having a C1-12 alkyl group and has a weight average molecular weight of 1000 to 120000. The coating agent comprises the surface conditioner for coating agents and a coating component.
