<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lending system which can process lending operations or return operations in parallel. <P>SOLUTION: The lending system reads a membership ID and a lending item ID using a left reading part 200 or a right reading part 300, stores lending data and manages lending items. Member operating positions (not shown) are provided on the right and left.
