PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a display apparatus which has a display device including a first substrate having an electrode terminal at the outer edge and a second substrate placed opposite to the first substrate so that the electrode terminal is exposed, wherein a wiring connection part and also the end of the second substrate can be coated with a resin layer. SOLUTION: Argon (Ar) gas as an inert gas is activated by an atmospheric pressure plasma generator 34. The activated argon (Ar) gas 60 as a first gas is blown against the wiring connection part with the guidance of a gas nozzle 36, and a second gas 70 containing 40 or more vol.% of oxygen (O<SB>2</SB>) is blown to the wiring connection part with the guidance of a gas nozzle 37, from the direction forming an acute angle with respect to the first substrate toward the end of the second substrate adjacent to the wiring connection part. A gaseous mixture 71, composed of the first gas and the indirectly activated second gas, is formed to perform surface modification treatment of the wiring connecting part and the end of the second substrate.
