PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator capable of suppressing the generation of a volatile organic compound gas. SOLUTION: In the refrigerator having a radiation pipe of a refrigerating cycle and a heat insulating material of foamed polystyrene, the foamed polystyrene disposed near the radiation pipe heated to 28°C or higher at least in an actual use state is expanded polystyrene of a volatile organic compound reduction grade. Furthermore, in the refrigerator having a double door, rotary partitions disposed at opposite-hinge sides of the double door for suppressing the movement of a gas in the case of closing the double door, and the heat insulating material of foamed polystyrene, the foamed polystyrene disposed in the rotary partitions heated to 28°C or higher at least in an actual use state is the expanded polystyrene of the volatile organic compound reduction grade.
