A transmitting circuit (14) is so configured as to be connected to a communication line (4), and to transmit primary signals (51), which are composed of current signals, to the communication line (4) by changing the current that flows into the transmitting circuit from a transmission unit (2) via the communication line (4). A receiving circuit (15) is so configured as to receive secondary signals (52), which are formed by converting the primary signals (51) transmitted from the transmitting circuit (14) into voltage signals by means of a current-voltage conversion unit (3) provided between the transmission unit (2) and the communication line (4). Namely, the primary signals (51) composed of the current signals transmitted from the communication terminal (10) are converted, by means of the current-voltage conversion unit (3), into the secondary signals (52) composed of the voltage signals. Thus, communication can be performed even when the impedance of the communication line is reduced, and introduction of communication system is facilitated.
