The device consists of an oval metal cover of a size appropriate for the guide to be sealed, comprising a core of semi-hard rubber or the like, with a securing rod passing through said elements and terminating in a prismatic trapezoidal stop element which is slightly shorter than the horizontal dimension of the oval but longer than the vertical dimension thereof. The opposite end the rod is provided with a screw thread for a retaining wing nut and a compression spring and a ring is provided axially between the stop and the rubber core. The rod terminates in a notch for indicating the angular position of the stop element.
