<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a Ge negative electrode for a lithium-ion secondary battery which has little deterioration due to charging and discharging. <P>SOLUTION: The negative electrode for a lithium-ion secondary battery includes a collector and an active material layer formed thereon. The active material layer of the negative electrode is composed of flake-like fine grains of germanium. Inside the active material layer of the negative electrode, the germanium fine grains are so stacked as to form void spaces therebetween. On the surface of the active material layer of the negative electrode, an angle formed by the largest flat surface of the flake-like fine grains and the surface of the collector is 30° or less. With this structure, a negative electrode having a high porosity, wherein the active material has a flat surface, can be manufactured. As a result, a negative electrode for a lithium-ion secondary battery which has little deterioration due to charging and discharging can be obtained. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
