PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structural color-developing metal-toned coating film having metal-toned design properties and a feeling like a light source for retro-reflecting light and an automotive component being a coated object having the structural color-developing metal-toned coating film. SOLUTION: The structural color-developing metal-toned coating film, which is formed on the surface of an object to be coated, is characterized in that a metallic foil 3 having≤1,000 nm thickness and a diffraction grating chip 4 having also≤1,000 nm thickness are incorporated in a binder resin 2, preferably, by 20-90 mass% and the metallic foil 3 and diffraction grating chip 4 are aligned almost in parallel to the coating surface 10a.
