The device (1) has a locking element (2) coupled with a hydraulic cylinder (3) and/or a piston (4) such that the element is engageable in a pressure-free condition of the cylinder by a spring element (9) or a compression spring, and a motor vehicle transmission is blockable and disengageable by an application of pressure of the cylinder. The pressure is adjustable with a relief valve (12) i.e. directly steered regulating valve, by a pressure pipe (11). A slide valve (13) is provided between the relief valve and the cylinder in the pipe, and is servo-controlled by a shift valve (14).
