PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chip saw usable in horizontal or vertical sawing, and capable of attaining light weight, excellent linearity and good sawing skin for a material to be cut. SOLUTION: The chip saw includes a first tip having an end inclination angle and a lateral rake angle inclined toward one surface of a base metal and a lateral rake angle; a second tip having an end inclination angle and a lateral rake angle inclined toward the other surface of the base metal; and a third tip in which an inclination surface portion is formed on both sides in the thickness direction and a flat portion whose width is smaller than a dimension between cutting edges of the first tip and the second tip and which protrudes by a predetermined dimension outward from the cutting edges of these tips is formed in the center between the inclination surface portions. A width T3 of the flat portion of the third tip is not more than a single cutting width W1 (T3≤W1) of the first tip and the second tip C2, while a width W2 between intersections of the first tip, the second tip and the third tip is not more than two times (W2≤2×W1) as large as a single cutting width W1.
