PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact imaging unit having improved functions without enlarging its outer form, in particular, its diameter. SOLUTION: An imaging unit includes: an electrode which is formed on at least two of a one end of a lens barrel, the other end of the lens barrel and a trunk part of the lens barrel; a wire part which connects the electrodes electrically; an image sensor provided on one of the one end and the other end; a plurality of functional elements provided to the lens barrel; and a multiplexed-signal converting element which converts multiplexed signals from a plurality of external electrodes provided to the lens barrel.
