Provided is a new triazine compound that protects against ultraviolet rays even in a long-wavelength region and is useful as an ultraviolet absorber with superior light resistance. Also provided are an ultraviolet absorber that maintains protection against long-wave ultraviolet rays over a long period and a resin composition. The compound is represented by general formula (1). [R1a, R1b, R1c, R1d, and R1e each independently represents a hydrogen atom or a monovalent substituent excluding OH, and at least one of the monovalent substituents is a substituent with a Hammett substituent constant (sp) of 0.3 or higher. Additionally, the substituents may be bound together to form a ring. R1g, R1h, R1i, R1j, R1k, Rlm, Rln, and R1p each independently represents a hydrogen element or a monovalent substituent.
