The cell (1) has an electrode stack (5) comprising electrode foils (5.1, 5.2) with different polarity, where the foils are separated from each other by a separator foil (5.3). Poles of the electrode stack are electrically connected with electrically conductive housing side walls (2, 3). The poles are arranged between the housing side walls and a metallic pressing plate (6) and welded in sections with the housing side walls and the pressing plate. A frame (4) or sections of the frame is made of a thermoplastic material. An independent claim is also included for a method for producing a single cell of a battery.
