The adjuster has a guide rail (1) attached to an B or C-column of a motor vehicle. An adjusting part is adjustably and lockably arranged in the rail. A safety seat belt deflection fitting is connected to the adjusting part. Locking positions of the adjusting part are predetermined by rest openings (6) at the guide rail. The rail has an C-shaped profile in a cross section with end areas (1a). The rest openings are provided at transitions from the C-shaped profile to the end areas of the rail. Additional rest openings (7) for another adjusting part are provided at a base (1c) of the rail.
