<p>An automated warehouse (1) wherein a rack (2) is provided with shelves (6) for storing articles (F). A transfer device (16) is a device for transferring an article between the shelves (6) and can move between the shelves (6) while passing the front of the shelves (6). A sensor (51) is provided to a stacker crane (3). A body (10) to be detected is provided to each shelf (6), is located further toward the inside than an article (F) when the article (F) is placed on the shelf (6), and has both a portion hidden from the sensor (51) by the article (F) placed on the shelf (6) and a portion not hidden. A main controller (43) is a controller for determining, using the result of detection by the sensor (51), whether or not the article (F) is placed on the shelf (6), and, in order to determine whether or not the article (F) is being placed on the shelf (6), the main controller (43) uses the switching from a state in which the body (10) to be detected is detected to a state in which the body (10) to be detected is not detected.</p> |
