<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing apparatus, an information processing method, and a program which are not necessary to create biometrics information from a part of a living body at every personal authentication. <P>SOLUTION: The information processing apparatus is provided with: an authentication processing unit which performs authentication processing of the biometrics information which is unique information of the living body; and an application control unit which controls application which provides predetermined services according to an authentication result of the biometrics information, and requests authentication of the biometrics information to the authentication processing unit. The authentication processing unit has: a biometrics information authentication unit which authenticates the biometrics information based on registered biometrics information which is preregistered biometrics information; and an attribute certificate creation unit which creates an attribute certificate in which information about expiration date of the authentication result of the biometrics information is described when the authentication succeeds for the biometrics information by the biometrics information authentication unit.
