摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve color reproducibility with respect to predetermined color resolution. <P>SOLUTION: A color generation part 20 includes: an area detection circuit 21; and an error minimum chromaticity detection circuit 22. The area detection circuit 21 detects an area including an input chromaticity point inside is detected among first to fourth areas. The error minimum chromaticity detection circuit 22 reads out the detected area and an additional primary color point determined for the area. The error minimum chromaticity detection circuit 22 reads a primary color reproduction point in the detected area from a ROM 11f. The error minimum chromaticity detection circuit 22 calculates an additional reproduction point based upon each primary color reproduction point and the additional primary color point.
