<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic clinical thermometer which is fixed stably in the armpit of a subject and enables shortening of a time required for body temperature measurement. <P>SOLUTION: The electronic clinical thermometer includes a body part (110) which is shaped like a flat plate and held by the trunk part and the upper arm part of the subject in the armpit of the subject, a measuring part (120) which is joined to one end of the body part (110) and shaped like a flat plate having a thickness almost equal to that of the body part (110) and has a temperature sensing part (122) for sensing the temperature provided on the outer peripheral surface (121) thereof and at a position where it comes into contact with the armpit of the subject, and a display part (130) which is joined to the other end of the body part (110) and displays the body temperature of the subject calculated on the basis of the temperature sensed in the temperature sensing part (122).
