PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To record an extended definition record image faster by a simple structure irrespective of the number of colors or the number of record scannings. SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus includes input value correcting parts 203 and 204 for correcting each color component value by adding a quantization error to each color component value constituting attention pixel data, an independent quantization part for quantizing each color component after the correction into M gradation independently, a distribution quantization part for computing the sum of the color component values concerned of two or more color components after the correction to quantize the computed sum into the number of respective color components set as a correlative quantization object and the number of gradations set depending upon the number of gradations M, a quantization value distributing part 207 for distributing a value indicated by the quantization result as a value after the quantization of each color component value according to a ratio of each color component value, and error computing parts 208 and 209 for distributing a finite difference between a quantization value of each color component set as an independent quantization object and a quantization value of each color component distributed by the quantization value distributing part 207, and their values before the quantization as the quantization error of each color component to a non-quantization pixel position.
