PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve high luminance of a light emitting device by utilizing a feature of a double-side emission type organic luminous element. SOLUTION: The light emitting device includes a first substrate provided with a first luminous element and a second substrate provided with a second luminous element. The first substrate and the second substrate are arranged to face each other so as to hold the first luminous element and the second luminous element therebetween. The first luminous element provided on the first substrate emits light toward both first and second substrates, and the second luminous element provided on the second substrate emits light toward the first substrate.
