PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a weight detection apparatus stably detecting the weight of a transfer detection medium. SOLUTION: The weight detection apparatus includes a conveying mechanism 10 conveying a medium P to be detected at a predetermined speed along a conveying path 11; a transducer 42 detecting a kinetic energy of the detection medium conveyed by the conveying mechanism, and converting the detected kinetic energy into a measurable physical quantity; and an operation portion calculating the weight of the detection medium, on the basis of the physical quantity converted by the transducer and the predetermined speed.
