PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safe and space-saving centrifugal force expanding brake device capable of smoothly and reliably applying a braking force to a wheel according to the rotation speed. SOLUTION: In the centrifugal force expanding brake device, the wheel 20 is rotated to increase the rotation speed of a holding member 41 connected to a pinion 30 by engagement of a ring gear 34 with the pinion 30, and a rocking member 43 supported by the holding member 41 is rocked outward by the centrifugal force against an elastic force of an elastic member 45. Thereby, the rocking member 43 is pressed against the inner peripheral surface of a brake drum 40 fastened to the supporting member 31 fixed to a shaft member 16 for rotatably supporting the wheel 20 through a friction member 46, so that the braking force is applied to the wheel 20 via the pinion 30 and the ring gear 34.
