The method involves expanding an inner casing surface of a work-piece by pressing rotatable supported rolling wheels (15) at the inner casing surface. The rolling wheels are movable in a radial direction and stand in contact with pressing rollers, which are centrically supported in a housing (11). An outer casing surface of the work-piece is pressed in a mold that exhibits a contour, where the mold is designed as two-or multi parts. The contour is calibrated to the outer casing surface of the work-piece. An independent claim is also included for a device for calibrating the outer casing surface of the work-piece.
