<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device and a display method which can display input information in a region determined by a positional relation with an object placed on a display screen. <P>SOLUTION: A tablet device 3 transmits information input from a coordinate input part 35 as locus information to a display device 1. When a QR code recognized from a captured image captured by an image input part 19 indicates that there is a communication function, a control part 11 of the display device 1 determines that the placed object is a tablet device 3, and receives the locus information from the tablet device 3. Then, the control part 11 stores the received locus information in a data storage part 13 as the information of a tablet portion, and further transmits the base display information 131 and the information of the tablet portion to a display information generation part 20, and makes the display information generation part 20 generate drawing image by synthesizing the base display information 131 and the information of the table portion.
