PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an instrumental device capable of improving visibility without troubling a user. SOLUTION: This instrumental device includes a dial plate 5 having an index part, a translucent reflection type liquid crystal display panel 7, a light source 31 for illuminating at least the liquid crystal display panel 7 from the back, and a control means 32 for lighting the light source 31 in linkage with a headlight switch. The control means 32 lights the light source 31 with a first prescribed brightness during an ON-period of the headlight switch, and also lights the light source 31 with a second prescribed brightness during an OFF-period of the headlight switch.
