PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the self-weight of a detector from acting on a test piece by separating a target attached to the test piece and the detector. SOLUTION: A pair of targets 10U, 10L is attached to a gauge point of a test piece TP by the elastic force and moves along the direction of a loading axis following extension of the test piece. A pair of detectors 20U, 20L outputs a signal in accordance with the movement of the pair of targets 10U, 10L. Tip portions of the pair of detectors 20U, 20L are slidably connected to the pair of targets 10U, 10L, respectively, and base portions thereof are fixed to supporting devices 30U, 30L, respectively. Each of the pair of detectors 20U, 20L includes a straining part 21 that deforms with the movement of the corresponding target 10U or 10L. When the pair of targets 10U, 10L moves following extension of the test piece TP, the straining part 21 deforms such that the detectors 20U, 20L output a signal in accordance with the extension. Since the base portions of the detectors 20U, 20L are fixed to and held by the supporting devices 30U, 30L, the self-weight of the detectors 20U, 20L does not act on the test piece TP.
