摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a network around a monitoring ECU from being unable to be activated upon accidental disconnection. SOLUTION: A communication system 1 activates a network by supplying a specified signal to a communication line through two or more cold start nodes capable of activating the network. The monitoring ECU 10 constituting the communication system is configured to detect communication failure of each ECU 30 to be monitored on the basis of a reception frame from the communication line LN, record it as diagnostic information, and transmit the diagnostic information to a vehicle diagnostic device 50 as required, and is set to the cold start nodes. The monitoring ECU is connected to the communication line LN so as to be positioned between the other two cold start nodes. This configuration ensures connection of the monitoring ECU with the other cold start node even if disconnection occurs in either of the right and left sides of the monitoring ECU, and makes it possible to activate the network.
