PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrostatic coating method capable of thickening a coating film. SOLUTION: A work W and a powder paint P are heated by sending the hot air to the work W by a dryer section 111 at the tip section of a jetting section 102 while jetting the powder paint P by a spray gun 101. The powder of the powder paint P adhered to the work W is melted there to form a film that becomes an integral object with the work W. Therefore, electrostatic repulsion is never generated between the film and the powder paint P that is adhered thereafter. Since the capacitance becomes larger as the entire work W with the formation of the film, the powder paint P can be wrapped around portions that are not opposed to the jetting section 102 and an insulating coating film C of the powder paint P can be thickly formed as shown in Fig.3, accordingly. Moreover, in this case, the insulating coating film C can be thickened in not only flattened portions but also edge sections E of the work W and in the vicinity thereof. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
