Disclosed is a compact and low-cost ultlasonograph capable of displaying optimal images in either B-mode or color Doppler mode without providing respective transmission channels with a plurality of drive amplifiers having different transmission voltages. The ultrasonograph has a plurality of display modes and comprises: a probe which transmits an ultrasonic beam and receives reflected waves of the ultrasonic beam by a biomedical tissue; a low-pass filter which filters the reflected waves; and an image processing unit which subjects the filtered reflected waves to image processing corresponding to a selected display mode. The probe transmits an ultrasonic beam having an amplitude corresponding to the selected display mode. The low-pass filter has filter characteristics wherein at least a cut-off frequency varies corresponding to the selected display mode. |
