<p>The device is designed such that a U-shaped replaceable insert (4) is detachably arranged so that a position of the insert is adaptable to a profile structure (3). The insert is designed in the form of a profiled rail. A holder (6) cooperating with a profiled section (5) of an edge (1) of a floor covering (2) is formed on a longitudinal edge of the insert. The holder is formed to be partially complementary to the profiled section. The insert is made as a strand casting profile made of aluminum or plastic. The profiled section is designed in the form of a groove-spring-connection (19).</p>
