PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a front portion structure of an automobile which can improve load characteristics of an impact absorbing member without sacrificing a cabin space. SOLUTION: A front bumper 13 is provided forward of a lower support member (cross member) 10 extending between left and right side members 2. A lower impact absorbing member 15 extending in the vehicle width axis is provided to the lower support member 10 so as to approach a lower edge portion 13a of the front bumper 13.
