<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plastic optical element having high shape accuracy and low birefringence, and also to provide an optical unit having high performance using the plastic optical element. <P>SOLUTION: The plastic optical element 10 is formed by a metallic mold and composed of one or more optical faces 1 and non-optical faces 2. The plastic optical element has a convex portion 13 which projects to the non-optical face 2 side at least at a part of the boundary part between the non-optical face 2, which is adjacent to the optical face 1, and the optical face 1, and at least a part of the root of the non-optical face 2 side of the convex portion 13 has a sink 12 which is a defective transfer section from the metallic mold. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
