PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mailbox of which the buried section to be buried in the external wall of a building can effectively be utilized as a housing space, and in addition, of which the workability is good as being able to correspond to the variation of the thickness of the external wall of the building. SOLUTION: This mailbox includes: an outdoor side cylinder 5 which has a throw-in port 8 in the outdoor side, and is buried from the outdoor side in an opening section 25 which is installed on the external wall of the building; and an indoor side cylinder 6 which has a take-out port 15 in the indoor side, and is buried from the indoor side in the opening 25 on the external wall of the building. The mailbox is constituted in such a manner that the housing space 27 in which mails are housed is formed by keeping one of the outdoor side cylinder 5 and the indoor side cylinder 6 buried in the other.
