A base station is provided with a communication unit and a selection unit. The communication unit communicates with a mobile terminal via a relay link between a base station and a relay station and an access link between the relay station and the mobile terminal. The selection unit selects, from among a plurality of assignment patterns in which different delays are caused between the base station and the mobile terminal, an assignment pattern to frequency-time blocks of an uplink of the relay link, a downlink of the relay link, an uplink of the access link, and a downlink of the access link. |
