Apparatus for positioning a roof on a body. The invention provides an apparatus (10) for positioning, prior to its fixing, a roof (12) on a body (14) of a motor vehicle having a minimum of a rear crossmember (16), a front crossmember (18), and two lateral sides (20), which has at least one roof holding device for positioning the roof (12) on the body (14) of the vehicle; which apparatus is characterized in that it comprises a cover (25), carrying the roof holding device, and a pre-assembly centring device comprising: a device (26) for fixed indexing relative to a predetermined position on the rear crossmember (16); and a device (28) for centring relative to the lateral sides (20) which is arranged roughly level with the front crossmember (18). |
