PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning device capable of surely electrostatically collecting both of toner having a positive polarity and toner having a negative polarity from the surface of a photoreceptor and achieving the reduction of the number of components. SOLUTION: By applying voltage including peak-to-peak voltage lower than voltage twice as high as discharge start voltage to the electrifying roll, discharge only of a negative polarity is generated. Most of the toner has the negative polarity near a nip part between the photoreceptor and a cleaning brush due to negative discharge. Thus, the toner of both polarities remaining after transfer is removed only by one cleaning brush. Since most of the toner adhering to the cleaning brush has the negative polarity, all the toner is collected by one collection roll and one scraper. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
