The device (30) has deposit units for depositing tobacco leaf butts on reception units of a stripping device (10), and convey units for conveying the tobacco leaf butts one after the other in an automated manner at the level of a feeding station (12) of the stripping device. The convey units include a conveyor (32) with a feeding range (34) located at a feeding height (Ha) and with a loading range (36) located at a loading height (Hc). The conveyor transfers the tobacco leaf butts traversing at a working direction (S).
