Electric accumulator separators, which may be ribbed as disclosed in Specification 743,124, are made as by floating a web of paper 3 on a natural or synthetic latex, e.g. of polyvinyl chloride, in a bath 5, drying at 6, floating on a resin bath 7, squeezing out excess at 8, 9, drying at 10 to a moisture content of e.g. 5 to 10 per cent, and winding up at 11. The percentages of solids taken up may be 5 to 25 from the latex, 10 to 30 of resin, and 35 to 40 total. One to 5 per cent of a wetting agent, e.g. Turkey red oil, may be included in the latex bath. The resin may be of a phenol-formaldehyde, furfuraldehyde, or cresol type. |
