Cooling system for electronics in a gas turbine engine

A cooling system for electronics in a gas turbine engine system 10 comprising a fluid recirculation loop. The recirculation loop comprises a fluid line to carry coolant fluid, a heat pump 36 on the fluid line for removing heat from coolant fluid, a fluid pump 34 on the fluid line to circulate coolant fluid through the loop and an electronic device 24 in the gas turbine engine system. The electronic device is in thermal communication with the fluid recirculation loop. The cooling system may further comprise a fuel system to supply fuel to the gas turbine engine and a valve 32 to supply fuel from the fuel system to the loop as a coolant fluid. The loop may be switched between two states by the valve such that in the first state fuel from the fuel system can cool the electronic device and in the second state the electronic device is fluidly isolated from the fuel system. The valve may be a passive thermal displacement valve.
