<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To project a video image with no distortion from a projector onto a projection screen of an arbitrary curvature. <P>SOLUTION: A video signal processor 1 is stored with a mesh model of a projection screen (screen 2) in a specific form, such as a part of a spherical surface, a part of a cylindrical surface or combination of a plurality of planes, creates a mesh model of an actual projection screen by inputting, from a setting means 6, variable parameters of a diameter, a distance from the center of a cross section and the like, creates a corresponding map between a planar display screen and a projection screen mesh model on the basis of a positional relationship input from the setting means, between an observer and the projection screen of a projector 3. The video signal processor 1 produces a video image again for an input video image of a plane input from a playback apparatus of a recording medium 4 or a computer graphics creating apparatus 5 by applying texture mapping coordinates utilizing the corresponding map, thereby correcting the distortion of the projection screen. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
