PURPOSE: A control device of a traverse apparatus is provided to suppress the change of the traveling speed of a seal guide since the target traveling speed of a seal guide is firstly determined. CONSTITUTION: A control device(34) of a traverse apparatus comprises a traverse controller(80). The traverse controller comprises a position-speed pattern generating unit, a target speed calculating unit, and a driving control unit. The position-speed pattern generating unit provides position-speed patterns about the relation of the traveling speed of a seal guide(33). The target speed calculating unit calculates the target traveling speed of the seal guide detected by an encoder(49). The driving control unit controls the operation of the seal guide drive unit based on the target traveling speed.
