PURPOSE: An automatic nitrogen supply apparatus and method are provided to restrict explosion sounds when opening a riser pipe with a small amount of nitrogen by directly supplying nitrogen to a riser pipe, not a coking chamber. CONSTITUTION: An automatic nitrogen supply apparatus comprises position sensors(210,211), a contact unit(183), a nitrogen supplying pipe, a valve, and a controller(250). The position sensors are installed in an extruder(170). The contact unit is installed in a door lifter(180) and contacts the position sensors by the motion of the door lifter. One side of the nitrogen supply pipe is connected to a nitrogen source while the other is connected to a riser pipe, so nitrogen is supplied to the riser pipe. The valve is installed in the nitrogen supply pipe. The controller receives a contact signal from the position sensors and regulates the opening/closing of the valve. |
