METHOD AND APPARATUS OF SWITCHING CHANNELS BEING BROADCASTING PREFERRED PROGRAMS

PURPOSE: A method and a device for switching a channel for a preferred program are provided to automatically change a channel to the channel of a preferred program, thereby removing inconvenience of individually searching a channel or a broadcasting schedule. CONSTITUTION: A keyword extracting unit(120) extracts a keyword from the title of a selected program by a control signal of a user or a program transmitted during fixed time after a channel change. An EPG information managing unit(130) searches a program including the extracted keyword in EPG information. The EPG information managing unit records a preferred program ID in EPG information of the searched program. A broadcasting service provider produces, edits, and changes broadcasting contents and provides them to a head end system.
