A clamp 310 comprises two pivotally mounted clamp body sections 320, 330 with each section having a clamp head 325, 335 and a handle 313, 314 and a biasing device that urges the clamp heads 325, 335 together in a clamping position. Moving the handles 313, 314 towards each other moves the clamp heads 325, 335 apart and opens the clamp. One clamp head 335 is mounted on an arm337 that extends adjustably and lockably through apertures in both clamp body sections, so that the distance between the clamp heads 325, 335 can be varied. This arrangement makes the clamp more adaptable when used.
