The invention relates to a refractory stopper for the ebullition of molten metals, consisting of a steel sheet case on which there is placed a central rod (1) made either of dense refractory corundum concrete with very low cement content, or of sintered corundum ceramic material, a layer (2) of dense refractory corundum concrete with very low cement content placed in the peripheral zone of the case, a layer (3) of porous refractory corundum concrete poured at the lower base of the case, an assembly (4, 4') of sintered plates made of corundum, zirconium, zirconia, spinel or a mixture thereof, provided with radial slots (a) and cross slots (b) and, optionally, a ceramic sheath (5) for temperature and wear measurement, provided with a thermocouple. |
