Disclosed is an amine derivative of formula (I) where the variable X contains a cyclic group (such as an optionally substituted cycloalkylene) and the other variables are as disclosed in the description. The compounds are useful as NPY Y5 receptor antagonists. Also disclosed is a pharmaceutical composition containing a compound of formula (I) and intermediate compounds used in the preparation of compounds of formula (I). Further disclosed is the use of the compounds in the preparation of a medicament for the treatment of obesity or suppressing food intake.
