The contact has metal foam formed of open cells, where component of the metal foam is selected from copper, copper-zinc alloy, bronze and/or nickel. The open cells of the metal foam are partially filled with a filling material that is resistant to abrasion and/or impacts. The filling material comprises additives having flame retardant properties, where the additives are constituted of phosphates and/or zinc salts and/or antimony.
